A synergistic group of cassette recordists, The Painters’ playfully refract a multitude of colourful influences – from hippie folk to synth pop to microtonal improvisations. After spending five years writing, rehearsing, and recording in their shared apartment-turned-studio, The Painters are releasing their eponymous debut full-length record via their own label EEL RECORDS on October 20. Accompanying the release of the album is a full-length self-produced ‘visual album,’ featuring videos by ten different artists and animators.
