The first single off the album is “Broken Mirror,” a hallucinogenic jangle anthem that unfolds in three movements, gaining energy as it blasts through space before melting into the sun. The song is carried by morphing violins, recorded through a vintage amp with cranked tremolo. The introspective lyrics and approachable songwriting by Alex Bourque are contrasted by the enigmatic instrumentation and production stylings of bandmates and co-producers Joshua Boguski and Michael Halls. Together they present a refreshing addition to the indie canon.
