Because You Love Everything

Marlaena Moore

Marlaena Moore’s Because You Love Everything is a raw and introspective exploration of self-discovery and resilience. Co-produced with Scott “Monty” Munro of Preoccupations, the album captures Moore's unflinching honesty and creative evolution. Balancing melancholy with hope, the record explores vulnerability, growth, and the relentless pursuit of artistic expression. Anchored by Moore’s magnetic voice, unfiltered lyricism and dreamlike melodies, Because You Love Everything flourishes into the chaos and beauty of embracing life's unknowns. Originally titled I Don’t Really Know What I’m Doing Anymore, Because You Love Everything was written and recorded during the pandemic in the basement of co-producer Scott “Monty” Munro's parents' home. The title reflects Moore’s journey through a career of stops and starts, navigating an ever-changing industry while embracing resilience and creativity.

Featuring standout singles like “Unfaded,” “Hungry for God,” “Running on Empty,” and “Teething,” the album captures Moore's fearless artistry and ability to turn uncertainty into deeply resonant music.

The album’s singles showcase Moore's diverse range and emotional depth. “Unfaded” confronts life’s ambiguities with wry humour and shimmering math-rock textures, while “Running on Empty” captures the catharsis of breaking free from stifling relationships, its dreamy production a nod to icons like Cyndi Lauper and Prince. In “Hungry for God,” Moore lays bare the allure and pitfalls of searching for meaning in all the wrong places, blending haunting melodies with theatrical undertones inspired by Sarah McLachlan. Together, these tracks form the heart of Because You Love Everything, the final body of work feels intimate and universal, inviting listeners into Moore's world of poignant self-reflection and unshakable hope.
