Following his first full-length album L'eau par la soif in 2020 and his 2024 collaborative album with Orchestroll, Feu St-Antoine returns to his home label, Éditions Appærent, with the release of his new four-track EP, 🫂 (also known as People Hugging). Gathering tracks released on various fundraising compilations in 2024, the 🫂 EP (also known as People Hugging) captures the urgency of the era in which it was composed and serves as a humble medium for donations to the Palestine and Lebanon Emergency Fund organized by MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians). In contrast to the multi-faceted and crystalline sound of L’Eau par la soif, 🫂 picks up from where Spazio Libero left us, with a consistent grit, moody and hissy aura permeating the EP. Feu St-Antoine rarely sounded as straight-forward, and thumping as this.
